The Alabama Department of Transportation held a public involvement meeting today at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center concerning proposed Highway 280 improvements between Hollywood Blvd. and Doug Baker Blvd. The meeting began with an “open-house” format, where more than 100 area residents strolled through a designated conference space lined with oversized maps and drawings of the proposed changes. ALDOT representatives were on hand at each map, where they answered questions from the public and outlined the basic proposed changes. At 5 p.m., a formal presentation began, where a variety of ALDOT representatives, including Director John Cooper, presented the audience with a more detailed explanation of the proposed changes.
