Decorative Painting Workshop, Saturday 17th May, Lewes

Join Tess for a unique decorative painting workshop, hosted close to her home and studio near Lewes in East Sussex. We are inviting guests to select an item of their choice to decorate, including card lampshades, bobbin lamps and bobbin candlesticks made by Alfred Newall.  Our workshops are held in a traditional flint barn in the heart of the South Downs. Surrounded by beautiful Sussex downland and looking out over a rose garden, the venue provides plenty of inspiration and Tess will share with guests her own design and textile archive. Our workshops run from 10am till 4pm, during which Tess will lead guests through a decorative painting project of their choice. Outlining the design process and introducing techniques, Tess guides guests in sketching out their designs, practicing motifs and painting a piece to take home and treasure. Hosted by Sussex friends Field Food, workshop guests are treated to delicious food throughout the day, including a locally sourced seasonal feast for lunch. A taxi service is available from Lewes to the workshop venue, please indicate whether you would like to book a seat when placing your order.  Please select your project from the drop-down menu, ticket prices vary depending on items selected.
